Obituary

Don Joe McGinn, 94, died Jan. 13, 2006, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, Wichita.

He was born July 1, 1911, in Sedgwick, the son of Clarence George and Beulah B. Craycroft McGinn. A lifetime resident of Sedgwick, he was a farmer and stockman.

He belonged to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, and was a former board member of Andale Farmers Co-op.

On June 6, 1936, he married Helen Maebert Adamson in Halstead. She died Oct. 19, 1999.

Survivors include: two sons, Earl D., Garden City, and C.G., Sedgwick; two daughters, JoEllen Koerner, Newton, and Nancy Rice, Sedgwick; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, LeRoy Joseph McGinn; two infant brothers; two brothers, Hayes and Maurice McGinn; two sisters, Mildred Doyle and Yvonne Janzen; and a great-grandson.

Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, with Father Thomas Wai presiding. Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
