Obituary

Martha Smith, 90, Burrton, homemaker and sister of Dorothy Shive of Halstead, died Monday, June 29, at Memorial Home, Moundridge where she had resided since 1981. She was born September 15, 1901 at Burrton, the daughter of Adam C. and Caroline Unruh Base. She married Fred P. Smith on July 4, 1921 at Hutchinson. He died March 29. 1980.

Survivors: two brothers, Henry Base and Pete Base, both of Burrton and another sister, Pearl Clark, also of Burrton.

Services will be held Thursday at Grace Mennonite Church,, rural Halstead. Burial will be in the Burrton Cemetery.
