Obituary

Lloyd R. Smith, 85, Halstead, died August 22, 1992 at Halstead Hospital. He was born January 24, 1907 at Burrton, the son of Henry A. and Elizabeth Unruh Smith. He had been a Halstead resident for eight years, moving from Burns. He was a retired farmer and stockman.

On March 8, 1931 he married Amanda M. Johnson at Halstead. She died August 7, 1987. He was a member of the Grace Mennonite Church, rural Halstead.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Smith, Halstead and Larry Smith, Burns; three brothers, Eldon Smith and David Smith, both of Dalhart, Texas and Dennis Smith, Santa Fe, N.M.; three sisters, Mildred Dirks and Malena Dirks, both of Halstead and Luvina Koehn, Burns; seven grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday morning at the church conducted by Ministers Stanley Wiggers, Dean Becker and Alvin Koehn. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
