Obituary

Fenton A. Dennis, 95, Halstead, died March 19, 1983 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston. He was born October 8, 1897 at Cedar Gap, Missouri, the son of William Henry and Sophia Ann Gaskill Dennis. A Halstead resident for 54 years, he was the retired owner and operator of the former Dennis Variety Store in Halstead. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead.

He married Hester Hill at Kiowa on August 18, 1921. Survivors: wife of the home; son, Dean Dennis, Ardmore, Oklahoma; daughter, Betty Jane Kindell, Ocala, Florida; two sisters, Mattie Jackson, Ardmore and Rubie Heath, Thousand Oaks, California; and three grandchildren.

Funeral service was Tuesday March 23 at the First Unived Methodist Church, Halstead. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
