Obituary

Allene L. Green, 80, former Burrton resident, died August 19, 1993 at Mt. Hope Nursing Center, Mr. Hope, Kansas. She was born February 21, 1914 at Leach, Oklahoma; the daughter of David Lee and Della Sanders Guthrie. She was a 1932 graduate of Cleveland, Oklahoma High School. A longtime Burrton resident before moving to Mt. Hope in 1988, she was a retired city clerk for Burrton, having worked from 1963 to 1972.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Cleveland and the Order of the Eastern Star, Burrton.

On February 3, 1934 she married Ottis C. Green at Cleveland, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on March 14, 1990.

Survivors: son, Gerald Green, Haven; two daughters, Delores Orem, Buhler; Judy Smith, Bella Vista, Arkansas; brother, Karl Guthrie, Odessa, Missouri; two sisters, Kathleen Gilliam, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Lucretia Hicks, Tulsa; seven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Services were held August 32 at Van Campen Funeral home Chapel in Haven. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.
