Obituary

John W. Purkey, 76, formerly of Sedgwick, died May 1, 1993 at Fredonia, Kansas. He was born April 21, 1917 at Sedgwick, the son of Emma Katherine Nickelson and James Chester Purkey. He was a retired elevator mechanic of Montgomery and Otis Elevator Companies in Wichita.

Survivors include a sister, Alma Varvel, Lockwood, Missouri. Graveside service was Wednesday, May 5, at Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick, K ansas.
