Obituary

Cordie L. Volz, 77, Halstead, died Friday October 15, 1993 at the Halstead Hospital. She was born March 9, 1916 at Brownell, the daughter of Milo and Cora Fear Sidebottom. A Halstead resident since 1987, moving from Tuscon, Arizona, she was a retired administrative secretary for the Tucson Public Schools. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead.

On May 1, 1939 she married Roy B. Volz at Hamlin. Survivors include her husband, Roy, at homee two sons, Bernard L. Volz, Tembagapura, Indonesia; and Dean L. Volz, Tucson, Arizona; two daughters, Cora L. Tigert, Livermore, California and Anna L. Nisbet, Tucson; two sisters Doris McMurphy, Sterling and Clara Smith, Lyons, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral was held October 18 at the First United Methodist Church, Halstead. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the Alzheimer's and Similar Disease Foundation.
