Obituary

Edna G. Dreese, 95, Halstead, died Monday, July 25, 1994 at Kidron Bethel Health Care Center, North Newton. She was born September 12, 1898 at Halstead, the daughter of Dennis Newous and Mary C. Groome Simonson. A lifetime area resident, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary, all of Halstead.

She married Boyd C. Dreese at Sedgwick on September 18, 1921. He died July 24, 1971. Survivors: son, Michael Dreese, Wichita; two daughters, Katherine Shipp, Colorado Springs, Colorado; Helen Alpers, Roswell, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

Funeral was Wednesday, July 27 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, with the Rev. Donald Mecks presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
