Eshom, Charles Harold
Halstead Independent
Charles Harold "Penny" Eshom, 98, Burrton, died Sunday, July 17, 1994 atr the Halstead Hospital. He was born February 15, 1896 at Nortonville, the son of B. J. and Annie Shirley Eshom. A Burrton resident since 1912, he was a farmer. He also taught Sunday school to High School students for over 40 years.
He was a member of the First Christian Church; the American Legion post No.196; the Halstead-Burrton VFW Post No. 1924 and the Lions Club, all of Burrton. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and served during World War I.
On August 30, 1921, he married Josephine May Stanley at Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Donald Eshom, St. Mary's and several nephews and nieces.
Funeral was Wednesday, July 20, at First Christian Church in Burrton. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery. Color guard was provided by the Halstead-Burrton VFW Post.
