Obituary

Peter N. Funk 78, Newton, father to Peter L. Funk, Halstead, died Thursday, May 5, 1994 at Newton Medical Center.

He was born March 17, 1916 in Marion County, the son of Peter D. and Bertha E. Nickel Funk. A long time resident of the Newton area, he was a retired miller at Ross Industries (now Cargill), Newton; a custodian engineer at Hesston Inc., Hesston and also served as a Wichita Eagle newspaper carrier. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church, Newton.

He married Louise C. Funk at Hillsboro on May 29, 1937. She preceded him in death in 1989. Survivors: three other sons, George W. Funk, Goessel; Roger L. Funk and Terry L. Funk, both of Newton; daughter, Carol Ann Schmidt, Newton; brother, Gerheardt F. Funk; 13 grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and a brother.

Services were held at Peace Lutheran Church, Newton. Burial was in the Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton, Kansas.
