Obituary

Edna Peterson, 91, Newton, mother to Joanne Denno of Halstead, died Tuesday, July 26, 1994 at Newton Medical Center, Newton. She was born February 6, 1903 at Peabody, the daughter of Fred and Sophia Richter Irion. A Newton resident for the past 23 yearws, she was a homemaker. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and the Royal Neighbors of America, both at Newton.

On August 24, 1952, she married Arthur Glenn Peterson at Wichita. He survives. Other survivors include a son, Milburn Hughes, Aurora, Illinois; another daughter, Gwen Sawyer, Wichita; stepson, Marvin Peterson, Maize; stepdaughter, Edith Osler, Wichita; two sisters, Hester Lessley, Kingfisher, Oklahoma and Violet Higgins, Seattle, Washington; 19 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday July 30 at the First Church of the Hazarene, Newton with Pastor Larry D. Morgan Presiding. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery Newton. Memorial with Hospice.
