Obituary

L. Glenn Pummill, 86, Netwon, father of Glenna McGinn of Halstead, died Thursday, September 29, 1994, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born June 16, 1908 at Lebanon, Missouri, he was the son of Luther Calvin and Sarilda Exona Rains Pummill. A Newton resident for 74 years, he worked as a switchman for the Santa Fe Railroad for 36 years, retiring in 1972. He was also the retired owner of Glen's Repair Service.

He attended First Christian Church, Newton, and was a member of the United Transportation Union Newton; Nomad Camping club retirees Camping club and Golden Circle Camping Club, all of Newton.

On June 2, 1933 he married Velma Foster at Wichita. She survives. Other survivors include two other daughters, Karen Hickerson, Levasy, Missouri and Linda Johnson, Englewood, Colorado; two sisters, Mary McCaslin, Mesa, Ariona and Ina McCaslin, Apache Junction, Arizona; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday, October 3 at First Christian Church, Newton, with the Rev. Rollin Hole presiding. Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
