William B. Adair, 74, Halstead, died Saturday, November 11, 1995 at Regency Health Care Center, Halstead, Kansas. He was born August 22, 1921 in Khartoum, Sudan, Africa, the son of William and Lottie Hart Adair. A resident of Halstead for the past nine years, he was a minister, missionary teacher and translator. After retiring, he worked as a teacher's aide at the Halstead Intermediate Attendance Center.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and the Lions Club, both of Halstead.
On June 12, 1945, he married Martha Hamilton Adair in Fowler, California. She survives. Other survivors include sons, Edgar Adair, Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Timothy Adair, Littleton, Colorado; daughters, Kathleen Adair, St. Louis, Missouri and Gwenth Haspels, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia; brothers, James Adair, Cannonburg, Pennsylvania and John Adair, Santa Cruz, California; sisters, Ann McGeech, Wooster, Ohio, and Martha Blackwood, McAllen, Texas; and eight grandchildren.
Memorial service was Friday evening, November 18, 1975 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Keith Allison presiding. Burial will be in the Halstead Cemetery.
