Obituary

Gladys M. Dreese, 94, Halstead, died August 9, 1995 at the Halsted Hospital. Miss Dreese was born April 29, 1901 at Halstead, the daughter of Charles R. and Mary Ruth Lehman Dreese.

She grew up in Halstead and attended Wichita Business College. She worked in Wichita before moving to California where she was a bookkeepeer for San Bernadino County, San Berenadino, California. She returned to Halstead in 1953 and was head of the Medical Records department at the Hertzler Clinic for 18 years.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Halstead; the Berle Club; Halstead Historical Society; and the Halstead Fine Arts Association. She was an active worker in all the organizations as long as her healthh permitted.

Survivors: two nieces, Gloria Gentry, Yarnell, Arizona and Geralding Dreese Raizhe, Valencia, California; cousin, Dr. William C. Dreese, Halstead and several great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Galen Dreese and Clayton Dreese, and one sister, Ardith Pierce.

Graveside services were held Friday morning, August 11, at the Halstead Cemetery with Rev. Donald Meeks.
