Obituary

Roger Leigh Hefling, 93, Halstead, died Sunday, August 20, 1995 at his residence. He was born December 15, 1901 in rural Burrton, the son of John and Martha Fryar Heflig. A lifetime resident of Halstead, he was a retired farmer and carpenter.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Halstead, and the Harvey County Farm Bureau.

On November 11, 1928, he married Edith A. Huffman at Halstead. She survives. Other survivors include four sons, John Hefling, Danville, Illinois; James Hefling, Halstead; Jerry Hefling, Overland Park and Joel Hefling, Brookings, South Dakota; a daughter, Jeanette Leroux, Columbia, Missouri; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. James A. Mardock presiding. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
