Obituary

Susie Martens, 82, Newton, formerly of Burrton, died Wednesday, February 22, 1995 at the Halstead Hospital
She was born July 9, 1912 at Burrton, the daughter of Henry and Mary Janzen Adrian. A Newton resident, she was a homemaker and was retired from "Dietary food Service at Bethel and Axtell Hospitals, Newton.

She was a member of Meridian Baptist Church, Newton. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross, Newton's Retired Senior Volunteers Program and the American Cancer Society.

She married Ike Martens at Huchinson on September 26, 1935. He died June 25, 1974.

Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Jerroll Martens, Newton; Roger Martens, Kansas City, Missouir; and Richard Martens, Lake Oswego, Oregon; daughter, Karen Stucky, Lakewood, Colorado; brother, C. J. Adrian, Corn, Oklahaoma; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Services were held February 25 at Meridian Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Kliewer presiding. Burial was in Greenwood Cenetery, Newton.
