Peterson, Arthur Glenn

Arthur Glenn "Pete" Peterson, 96, Newton, stepfather to Joanne Denno of Halstead, died Wednesday, October 4, 1995, at Newton Medical Center, Newton.

He was born July 6, 1899 at Newton, the son of William and Eunice Miller Peterson. He lived most of his life in Wichita; he lived in Salina for 6 years, then back to Newton in the early 1970's. He was a retired car inspector for Santa Fe Railway, Newton for 42 years. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Newton.

On July 6, 1925, he married Edith Faye Bluhm at Newton. She died February 7, 1973. On August 24, 1952, he married Edna Mae Irion at Wichita. She died July 26, 1994.

Survivors: son, Marvin Peterson, Maize; daughter, Edith Osler, Wichita; stepson, Milburn Hughes, Gallatin, Missouri; another stepdaughter, Gwen Sawyer, Wichita; two brothers, Earl Peterson and Sam Peterson, both of Oregon; three sisters, Clairdean Swanson; Carrie Newtson and Gladys Nissen, all of Oregon; 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren.

Services were held October 6 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel, Newton. Burial was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
