Obituary

Bertha Elizabeth Pjesky, 96, North Newton, formerly of Halstead, died Friday, September 22, 1995 at Kidron Bethel Healthcare Center, North Newton.

She was born April 28, 1899 at Perry, Oklahoma, the daughter of John and Ernestine Ratzlaff Smith. A resident of Halstead before moving to the Newton area in 1982, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Newton.

She married August Pjesky at Halstead on September 24, 1922 at Halstead. He died July 28, 1980.

Survivors: son, Marvin R. Pjesky, Madera, California; daughter, Elenora Alexander, Newton; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, September 27, at Zion Lutheran Church, Newton with the Rev. Ronald R. Gloe presiding. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery, Halstead, Kansas.
