Richardson, Hanna

Harvey County Independent

Hanna Richardson, 94, Kansas City, missouri, mother to Gloria Gleason of Halsteaad, died Saturday, February 4, 1995 at New Mark Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born January 27, 1901 at Scammon, Kansas, the daughter of Daniel McCormick and Hanna Gavin McCormick. A resident of Kansas City, Missouri, moving from Parsons, she had grown up and attended school in Scammon. While living in Parsons, she was employed as a cook with the Parsons State Hospital and Trainiing Center for many years. in the 1950's, she and her husband operated the Golden Drumstick restaurant on North 26th Street and then later moved the resturant to the Townsman Motel. In 1967, after sixteen years of operating the business, she retired.

She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Parsons. On July 3, 1923, she married Charles O. Richardson in Parsons. He died February 28, 1981.

Other survivors: four grndchildren; 11 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Six brothers and two sisters preceded her in deth.

Rosary was Monday, February 6 at Carson-Wall Funerl Home, Parsons. Graveside service was Tuesday, February 6 at the Halstead Cemetery, Halstead, with Father James O'Shea presiding.
