Obituary

Allison Schroeder, 79, Newton, died Wednesday, September 27, 1995 at his home. He was born September 2, 1916 at Canton, the son of Peter P. and Margaretha Schmidt Schroeder. A Newton area resident for most of his life, he was a retirerd city clerk and director of finance for the city of Newton from 1939 to 1981.

He was a member of the First United Church of Christ and American Post #2, both of Newton. He was a U.S. Army officer serving as a First Lieutenant in the 121th Replacement Unit during World War II.

On May 22, 1941, he married Margaret Woodworth at Halstead. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Tom Schroeder, Wichita; daughter, Nancy Park, Palmdale, California; two sisters, Edith Schroeder, Newton and Hulda Schroeder, San Bernardino, California; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday, September 29 at the United Church of Christ of Newton with Pastor Christian A. Tirre presiding. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
