Obituary

Benjamin R. Snyder, 83, Halsted, died Thursday, September 7, 1995, at Kansas Nursing Center, Wilson, Kansas. He was born March 12, 1912 at Kismet, Kansas, the son of Benjamin Harrison and Rachel Edith Green Snyder. A Halstead resident since 1949, he was a retired sheet metal assembler for Beach and Cessna aircraft corporations.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and an active supoporter and worker for Halstead Senior Citizens, all of Halstead.

He married Koradine Christie at Thayer, Kansas on April 4, 1937. She survives. Other survivors: son, John H. Snyder, Jackson, Florida; daughter, Ruth Ann Withovski, Bellevue, Nebraska; sister, Neota Brown of Colorado; half sisters, Iona Birkenbaugh, Dodge City and Goldie Stoddard, Walsh, Colorado. He was preceded in death by two sons, James, who died March 16, 1950 and David, who died February 11, 1984.

Memorial services were held at First United Methodist Church in Halstead. Private burial was in the Halsted Cemetery.
