Obituary

Cecil Elmer Thompson, 95, Burrton, died Tuesday, August 15, 1995 at Newton Medical Center in Newton, Kansas. He was born July 31, 1900 at Halstead, the son of James E. Thompson and Kitty Giggy Thompson. A longtime Burrton resident, he was a retired farmer and claims adjuster for Fedeeral Crop EMC. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, but attended the United Methodist Church in Burrton.

On June 9, 1934, he married Leonora Botttoms in Wichita. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, James Lee Thompson, Reseda, California and Donald Keith Thompson, Maize; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Thompson, who died in 1988.

Memorial service is Thursday, August 17, at the United Methodist Church in Burrton with the Rev. Roland Wolfe presididng. Inurnment will be in Burrton Cemetery at a later date.
