Obituary

Hiram Elbert Ward, 75, Halstead, died Thursday, May 4, 1995 at Halstead HJospital. He was born May 6, 1919 at Licking, Missouri, the son of Hosea E. and Zaddie Rae Miles Ward. A Halstead resident for 47 years, he was a retired truck driver for Russell Ralph Construction Company.,

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Halstead and the Halstead Hospital Auxiliary.

He married Norvalle Marie Scott at Newton on May 19, 1940. She survives. Other survivor: son, Stephen Edward Ward, Hutchinson; two daughters, Patricia Ann Smith, Hutchinson, and Barbara Jane Ward, Garland, Texas; two brothers, Wayne Ward, Oxnard, California and Murlin Ward, Longview, Washington; four sisters, Louise Church, Montana; Bernice Cassidy, Oakview, California; Shirley Webber, Ojai, California and Sharon Camp, Paso Robles, California; 8 grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren.

Services were Saturday, May 6, at First United Methodist Church, Halstead with the Rev. James Mardock presiding. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
