Arnold, Orpha W.

Harvey County Independent

Orpha W. Arnold, Vancouver, Washington, formerly of Halstead, died December 31, 1996 at a Portland, Oregon Hospital. She was born in Scott City and was a retired teacher who had taught business classes in high school and colleges in Sacramento, California. She had been a resident of Vancouver since August 1988. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa in Vancouver and a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Sacramento.

Survivors include a daughter, Jean Chapman, Vancouover and a son, Darrell Arnold, Anchorage, Alaska; sister, Ollie Jameson, Topeka; brother, Don Weaver, Wichita; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette C. Arnold in 1991.

A memorial service was held Sunday, February 2, at her niece's home in Sacramento. There will be a memorial service March 22 in Alder's Gate Village Retirement Center in Topeka and a graveside service in Halstead Cemetery on March 29.
