Obituary

Irvin Schierling, 79,died February 17. 2006 at Hospice House Hutchinson. He was born September 9, 1926 in Inman, the son of George and Marie Kroeker Schierling. He was the retired senior vice president of Bank IV, Newton.

He belonged to Kiwanis Club and the boards of CASA, Newton Public Library and several other community committees.

He married Virginia Richards in Halstead on August 14, 1950. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Sharon Stockham and Susan Gillett, both of Newton; his stepmother, Helen Schierling, three brothers, Harry and George Jr., both of Newton and Edward, Pueblo, Colorado; sister, Dorothy Ensz, Hutchinson; three grand-children and two great grandchildren.

Funeral will be Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newton with the Rev. James Mainzer presiding. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
