Grabill, Harold E.
Harvey County Independent
Harold E. Grabill, 74, Wichita, died Friday, December 13, 1996 at his residence. He was born November 19, 1922 in rural Hesston, the son of Walter D. and Minnie E. Hawkey Grabill. He graduated from high school at Hesston Academy, Hesston, and attended Hesston College prior to entering the armed services. Following the war, he attended Southwestern College in Wiinfield and graduated in 1947. He later attended Kansas University where he worked on his masters degree. He was a retired Harvey County farmer and Rent-A-Center accountant.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Sedgwick and a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy-Air Force, attainiing the rank of Aviation Ordanceman 3rd Class.
On June 26, 1948, he married Ruth Steiner in Sedgwick. She survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Susan Earick, Wichita and Iolene Grabill, Topeka; two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Grabill.
Funeral was Monday, December 16 at Sedgwick United Methodist Church. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
