Obituary

Nora Ann Hayes, 51 of Newton, died Thursday, Aug 12, 2010, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St Francis Campus in Wichita. She was born on Dec 2, 1958, in Los Angeles, the daughter of Emilio and Katherine Jaso Monarez. Survivors include her husband, Richard of the home in Newton; daughter, Theresa Wooley and her husband Stanley Jr. of Wichita; stepson, Trent Hayes of Hutchinson; stepdaughter, Rhonda Hurst of Hutchinson; father Emilio Monarez and wife Kay of Newton; mother, Katherine Ornelas and husband Don of Newton; siblings, Gilbert Monarez of Newton, Alice Monarez of Newton, Victor Monarez and wife Terri of Newton, Monica Hankins and husband Terry of Newton, Reuben Monarez and wife Barb of Halstead, Rosalie Eason and Becky Caliendo of Newton, Laurie Monarez of Wichita, Shannon Wilkinson of Wichita, Gloria Monarez of Newton and Michael Monarez and wife Gina Monarez of Goddard; grandchildren, Jessica Heibert of Salina, Courtney Hurst of Montana and Taylan Hayes, all of Hutchinson; seven stepsiblings, Martin Ornelas, Brenda McKellips, Nancy Carr, Tillie Dellaguila, Gina Ornelas, Marjean Herrera and Melissa Hayward; and the father of Nora's children, Charles E. Chandler of Wichita. She was preceded in death by a son, Emilio John Chandler; nephew, George K. Eason Jr.; and stepbrothers, Ronald and Donato Ornelas Jr. A mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe church. Interment was at St. Mary's Cemetery in Newton.
