Luna, Victor Luna Sr.

Harvey County Independent

Victor Luna, Sr., 75, Sedgick, died Friday, September 6, 1996 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Francis Campus, Wichit. He was born July 28, 1921 at Torren. Mexico, the son of Miguel and Anastasia Medina Luna. A resident of Sedgwick since 1926, he was a retired railroad and civil service worker. He was a member of Hicks-Davison American Legion Post #268.

On November 16, 1942, he married Teofila "Josephine" Gomez at Newton. She survives. Other survivors include five sons, Joseph Luna; John Luna and David Luna, all of Wichita; Ernest Luna, Halstead and Victor Luna, Jr., Maize; five daughters, Mary Ayala and Mary Ann Williams, both of Sedgwick; Denise Reed, Independence, Missouri; Cecilia Julius, Peck, Kansas and Anita Allison, Newton; brother, Martin Luna, Valley Center; three sisters, Anita Luna; Micaele Luna and Manuela Chavez, all of Sedgwick; 26 grndchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Rosary was Monday, September 9 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Funeral Mass was Tuesday at the Church with Father James O'Shea presiding. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgick.
