Kaufman, Marvin J.



Marvin J. Kaufman, 89, died Wednesday, July 7, 2110, while at his home in Newton. He was born Oct. 31, 1920, newar Alta Mills, south of Moundridge, to John J. and Anna (Ratzlaff) Kaufman. He purchased a farm in 1950 and he farmed until 1987. He retired from Hehr International Window Company in Newton after working there for 30 years. He then started his own business in Newton known as MJK Car and Truck Sales. He married Elsie Krehbiel in 1943. She died in 1989. He married Doloris Krug in 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joohn J, Kaufman and Anna (Ratzlaff) Kaufman; wife, Elsie (Krehbiel) Kaufman; brothers, ed Kaufman, Jake Kaufman and Wilbert Kaufman; and sisters, Martha Kaufman, Marie Kaufman, Julda (Kaufman) Schrag and Bertha Kaufman. Survivors included his wife Deloris Krug Kaufman of Newton; sister, elda Kaufman of Newton; sister-in-law, Helen (entz0 (Kaufman) Klaassen of Newton; sons, Burdett Kaufman of Newton, and Marvin E. Kaufman and his wife Marilyn of Newton; daughters, Karolyn (Kaufman) Atchison and her husband Johnny of Omaha, Ark., and Luella (Kaufman)Vance and her husband Glen of Augusta; eight grandchildren; 15 reat-grandchildren; tow stepchildren, Debbie and Terrry Maier of Las Vegas, and Ted and Taunya Lindall of Ulysses; five step grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday, July 13 at Newton Bible Church in Newton. A graveside service followed at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton. Memorial funds are designated to the building fund of Grace Baptist Church of Hesston and the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Wichita. For more information, please call Petersen Funeral Home
