Alice Pauline (Smith) Purkey

Alice P. Purkey, 83, Sedgwick, died Saturday, May 25, 1996 at Meadowbrook Manor of Sedgwick. He was born Septembr 3, 1913 at Murdock, the daughter of Elza and Emma Romesburg Smith. A longtime resident of Sedgwick, she was a home maker.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Sedgwick.

On September 2, 1933, she married Albert Purkey at Wichita. He died March 4, 1984.

Survivors: sister, Mary Brown, Sedgwick; grandsons, Larry Shirk, ElDorado; Jeffrey Shirk, Wichita and Lanny Shirk, Waxahachie, Texas; 2 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in deth by a daughter, Phyllis Shirk, who died October 23, 1988.

Funeral was Tuesday, May 28, at First Christian Church, Sedgwick. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kansas.
