Schroeder, Myrtle A. Eighmey

Myrtle A. Eighmey Schroeder, 85, Newton, formerly of Sedgwick, died Wednesday, October 9, 1996 at Presbyterian Manor in Newton. She was born February 24, 1911 at Bucklin, Kansas, the daughter of John and Ida Crabtree Powers. Foster parents were George and Ida Holwick. In addition to being a homemaker, she had worked as a licensed dental assistant. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church and Order ofthe Eastern Star, both of Sedgwick.
On December 25, 1926 she married Paul W. Eighmery in Towanda, Kansas. He died May 2, 1959. On April 11, 1963, she married Menno Schroeder in Sedgwick. He died July 19, 1996. Survivors include three sons, J. Bruce Eighmey, Kansas City, Kansas; Jack D. Eighmey, Lecompton and Paul W. Eighmey, Clarksdale, Arizona; two stepsons, Gail Schroeder and Earl Schroeder, both of Sedgwick; three grandchildren; 1 great grandchild and five step grandchildren.
Graveside service was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, with the Rev. Bill Lanning presiding.
