Obituary

Leeta F. Stewart, 91, Newton, formerly of Halstead, died Thursday, July 18, 1996 at Kansas Christian Home. She was born August 23, 1904 in Halstead, the daughter of Thomas Lee Samuel and Emma Wear Samuel. A lifetime resident of Harvey County and Newton, she was a homemaker working for Boeing during World War II. She attended the Methodist Church.

On September 4, 1924, she married Clarence M. Stewart at Sedgwick. He died November 23, 1973.

Survivors: granddaughter, Barbara Edwards, Newton; four other grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Emily Becker in 1991 and Ruth Edwards in 19913.

Graveside service was at the Halstead Cemetery with the Rev. James Anderson of Newton presiding. Memorials to American Diabetes Association.
