Will, Marie

Marie Will, Halstead, 89, died Monday, April 12, 1996 at Schowalter Villa, Hesston, where she had resided for the past three years. She was born September 19. 1906 at Goessel, the daughter of C. G. and Margaret Regier Pankratz.
She was a graduate of Moundridge High School and attended Bethel College, North Newton. She was a rural school teacher before her marriage to John Emil Will, Auust 11, 1933. He died October 4, 1984. Following their marriage, she and her husband farmed north of Halstead until their retirement, when they moved to Halstead.
She was an avid quilter, quilting many quilts for people. Memberships included the GMH Farm Bureau-Extension Unit, Working at the county level in these organizations, First Mennonite Church, Halstead and a member of the Mission Society and the Quilters of the church.
Survivors: sons, John Elbert Will, Halstead and Edward L. Will, Wichita; brothers, Gilbert Pankratz, Hesston; Ronald Pankratz, Illinois; and Elbert Pankratz, Arvada, Colorado; sisters, Esther Pankratz, Moundridge; Frieda Suderman, Goessel; Elizabeth Zuercher, Whitewater and Fern Ruth, North Newton; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in deth by a brother, Waldo Pankratz and a sister, Margaret Ash.
Services were held Friday, August 16 at the First Mennonite Church, Halstead. Burial was in Halsteaad Cemetery, Halstead, Kansas.
