Dorothy K. Winans, 82, Newton, mother to Rosemary Stucky of Halstead, died Tuesday, August 6, 1996 at Western Plains Regional Hospital, Dodge City, Kansas. She was born October 17, 1913 at Newton, the daughter of Stanley and Irene Peters Flowers. A life long Newton resident, she was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Twentieth Century Club and Ladies Sewing Club, all of Newton.

On February 22, 1933, she married Bradford D. "Brad" Winans at Newton. He died October 21, 1979. Other survivors: two sons, Byron D. Winans, Dodge City and Brad P. Winans, Newton; two other daughters, Sally Rizzo, Dowington, Pennsylvania and Diane Ludwig, Salina; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Bradford K. and Thomas V.

Services were held at Peterson's Funeral Home with burial in Greenwood Cemetery.
