Obituary

Lorraine Humphrey, 85, homemaker, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010, at her residence. She was born June 19, 1924, at Gatliff, Ky., to Clyde and Betty (Rose) Elswick. On July 13, 1972, she married Lewis Humphrey Sr. at Newton, he preceded her in 1994. Survivors included a son; Claude (Butch) Nelson, Canton; sisters; Loretta Craig) Cooley, and Wanda Kipp all of Newton; sister: Margaret Jaquet, Hutchinson; six grand children and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son: Clyde Nelson; and sisters: Dorothy Watson and Bernice Larken. Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010, at Greenwood Cemetery, Newton, with Rev. Peter Hartman officiating. Memorials may be given to Hospice Care of Kansas in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead.
