Charles "Charlie" Carlock, 82, Newton, former Sedgwick resident, died Tuesday, February 25, 1997 at his home. He was born July 28, 1914 in Green County, the son of Felix and Ammie Belle Duncan Carlock. He was employed in the petroleum business.
He was a member of the Sedgwick Methodist Church, the Newton VFW, the Newton American Legion and the Newton Elks. He as a U. S. Army veteran who served in World War II.
On Janury 22, 1939, he married Catherine (Kay) Atwell at Conway Springs. Survivors: two daughters, Valerie Hom, San Diego, California and Mary Kay Carlock, Wichita and a sister, Mary C. Miller, Wichita. He was preceded in death by his wife, and a brother, Chester Lee Carlock.
Services were Friday, February 28, 1997 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
