Dalke, Alvin Dan

Alvin Dan Dalke, 77, Rogers, Arkansas formerly of Halstead, died Saturday, December 6, 1997 at Kellmark Nursing Center, Rogers, Arkansas. He was born February 13, 1920 at Carnegie, Oklahoma, the son of Emil C. And Annie Base Dalke. A resident of Rogers since 1969, he was retired from the U.S. Air Force and retired chief pilot for Hudson Goods and Peterson Industries.
He was a member of the First Mennonite Church in Halstead. He was a veteran of World War II, Korean and Vietnam wars, serving 26 years in the U. S. AirForce. He was involved with 135 combat missions in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, earned two Distinguished Flying Crosses, five Air Medals, two Unit Citation Medals, and 20 total decorations. He retired as a Major in the U. S. Air Force.
On April 20, 1946, he married Evelyn June Dick at Partridge. She died May 19, 1986. On June 10, 1988, he married Reba Lou Hallford at Decatur, Arkansas. She survives.
Other survivors: four sons, Paul Dalke and Doyle Dalke, both of Parsons; Greg Dalke, Hollyood, Maryland, and Charles Dalke, Gentry, Arkansas; brother, Edward Dalke, Burnet, Texas; two sisters, Elvera Klippenstein, Henderson, Nebraska and Sammi Krehbiel, McPherson; nine grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
Funeral was December 10 at First Mennonite Church, Halstead. Burial was in the Halstead Kansas Cemetery.
