Wilson, Harold

Harold Wilson, 76, retired truck driver and welder, died Saturday, Jan 2, 2010, at his residence. He was born Apr. 15, 1933, at Jenkins, Mo., to Everett and Rebecca Dolly(James)Wilson. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Confict and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and Ruth Wilson American Legion Post 231, both of Halstead. On January 12, 1957, he married Joyce Louise Dill at Halstead. She died Oct. 12, 2003. Survivors include sons: Rodney (Amy) Wilson and Gerald (Mary) Wilson; both of Halstead; Daughters: Sharlee Moss, Ellinwood; Penny (Jim) Hall, Neosho, Mo., and Robin (Larry) Powell, Joplin, Mo.; brothers Johnny and Phillip Wilson, Shell Knob, Mo.; and George Wilson, Jenkins, Mo.; and a sister, Lola Doty, Taft, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded by two sisters Mildred Eden and LaVon Owings. Funeral services were Wednesday, Jan. 6 at Kaufman Funeral Home with Rev. Peter Hartman officiating. Burial will be at Halstead Cemetery. Memorials my be given to HospiceCare of Kansas in care of Kaufman Funeral Home.
