Obituary

Martha F. Goering, 89, South Hutchinson, formerly of Burrton, died Thursday, December 11, 1997 at Mennonite Friendship Manor, South Hutchinson.

She was born February 10, 1908 at Janzen, Nebraska, the daughter of Isaac M. and Susie Wiens Friesen. A Burrton resident since 1941, moving from Moundridge, she was a homemaker. She belonged to Bethany Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, where she was a longtime Sunday School teacher.

On May 21, 1941, she married John D. Goering at Hutchinson. He died August 30, 1977. Survivors: two sons, Joel Goering, Burrton and Richard Goering, Omaha, Nebraska; brother, Ted Friesen, Garden City; two sisters, Erma Thiessen, Garden City and Bertha Friesen, Hutchinson; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Leo Friesen and a sister, Gretchen Enns.

Services were held Monday, December 15 a Bethany Church of the Nazarene, Hutchinson, with the Rev. Darrell Bisel presiding. Burial was in Burrton, Kansas cemetery.
