Jacobson, C. O.

Harvey County Independent

C. O. Jacobson, "Jake", 91, Midwest City, Oklahoma, formerly of Sedgwick, died Monday, April 28, 1997 in Oklahoma. He was born February 15, 1906 at Newton, the son of C. Neal and Clara Nightser Jacobson. He grew up in Sedgwick and was in the butter and dairy business in his earlier days. He then owned several Dairyland Soft Ice Cream stores, including Hilltop in Midwest City.

On June 5, 1924, he married Lois R. Huffman in Oklahoma City. She survives. Other survivors include his children, Janice Bissell, Pryor, Oklahoma; Mr. & Mrs. William N. Jacobson, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Rev. and Mrs. Larry Jacobson, Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Mr. & Mrs. Kenneth Jacobson, Dallas, Tesas; brother, Harold L. Jacobson, Newton; sister, Lillian Hobbs, Newton; 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sons, C. O. Jacobson, Jr. and Phillip Jacobson; a son-in-law, Dr. Robert Bissell; brother, Carl Jacobson; and sisters, Pearl Steffe; Esther Doane; Mable Bornholt and Hazel Bruington.

Funeral was Wednesday, April 30 at Midwest United Methodist Church, Midwest City, Oklahoma. Burial was 3:30 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery,. Newton, Kansas
