Obituary

Freda A. Lehman, 97, Wichita, aunt of Fred Schlender of Burrton, died Thursday, October 23, 1997. She was born July 28, 1900 in Moundridge, the daughter of Fred August and Lydia Mary Kittel Schlender. After growing up in Garden Township, near Moundridge, Freda taught school following her graduation from high schooll She then went to college and graduated from a Christian College in Naperville, Illinoia. Schools where she taught included Rural School District 51 in Garden Township, her home school and a kindergarten class in McPherson. She was also a librarian. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, PEO, Petroleum Coug and AAUW.

On June 7, 1927, she married Roy Phillip Lehman in Halstead. He died in 1980. Survivors include two daughters, Doris Feddersen, Grant's Pass, Oregon and Mary Ann Norton, Houston, Texas and 3 grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, October 27 in Margaret Holl Memorial Chapel at Wichita Presbyterian Manor at Wichita Graveside service was 12 noon in the Halstead Cemetery.
