Obituary

Maudell Morrison, 83, Rising Star, Texas, grandmother to Randall Smith and Denise Carey, both of Halstead, died Thursday, June 5, 1997 at Brownwood, Hospital, Brownwood, Texas.

She was born June 16, 1913 at Cooper, Texass, the daughter of Lassic Francis and Missouri Frances Wilson Hedrick. She had been a resident of Rising Star since 1996, formerly of Eldorado and Newton. She had worked at the Chuck House in Newton. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

She married Jess B. Morrison in Oklahoma City. He died April 17, 1977. Survivors: two sons, Benton Hedrick Morrison, Waxahachie, Texas and Ronald E. Morrison, Grove, Oklahoma; daughter, Frances D. Haynes, Rising Star, Texas; step-daughter, Delia White, Humble, Texas; 10 other grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren and 20 great grand children.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Smith/

Funeral was Monday, June 9, at Petersen Funeral Home, Newton, with Mr. Ed Lee presiding. Burial was in Gardens of Memory, Newton, Kansas.
