Obituary

Evelyn L. Scott, 86, Newton, died Wednesday, October 29, 1997 at her residence. She was born June 21, 1911 at Newton, the daughter of Gerd H. and Naomi Pletcher Buss. A lifetime resident of Newton, she was a homemaker.

She was a member of First Church of the Hazarene and Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, both of Newton.

On August 1, 1929, she married Jasper L. "Jeff" Scott at Newton. He died November 18, 1974.

Survivors: daughter, Virginia Callahan, Newton; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren and five great-great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Bonnie Lee Scott, her parents, two brothers, Paul Buss and Raymond Buss and a sister, Margaret Lorene Buss.

Graveside serivices were held November 1 in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton. Memorials to 'American Heart Association or Central Homecare and Hospice.
