Obituary

Barbara Lea Liggett Stewart, 70l, Newark, California, a former resident of Burrton died Thursday, May 22, 1997. She was born October 22, 1926 at Newton, Kansas, daughter of Austin Albert and Lela Adams Liggett. In 1944, she both graduated from Burrton High School and married Bauer (Bud) Stewart. He was a Navy veteran who died in 1987.

An accomplished seamstress who designed clothing, she also worked with stained glass, did needlepoint, and won many ribbons with her unusual minature rooms and houses.

Survivors: two daughters, Austina Lea Wright and Nancy Madaline Zerbato; two grandchildren, Danielle and Kenneth, all of Newark and one sister, Madaline Louise Liggett Cook, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.
