Obituary

Stephanie Joanne McCart, 22, Wichita State University student and Krispy Kreme Donuts employee, died Saturday March 14, 2009 in Huntsville, Texas. She was born Sept. 15, 1986 at Newton to Robert and Cheryl (Penner) McCart, both survive of Halstead. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, and a 2005 graduate of Halstead High School. Other survivors include Sisters: Rachel (Ryan) Kraus Halstead; Sara (Michael) Thompson, Hesston: half-sister Robin Negaard Peabody; Grandparents Wilbert and Eileen Penner, Burrton. She was preceded in death by grandfather, Harlan McCart, grandmother, Irene Arnett, and a niece Emma Thompson. Rosary was Tuesday, March 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Halstead with Father Steven Baxter officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral and inturnment will be in Fairview Cemetery rural Halstead. Memorials may be given to the Stephanie McCart Memorial Scholarship Fund at Wichita State University in care of Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead, KS.
