Obituary

Evening Kansan Republican Saturday, October 17, 1942 _______Mrs. Kittie Ashworth passed away at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital, Friday evening. Mrs. Ashworth, mother of Mrs. Cora Lantis,resided at 505 East South Third Street and had been a citizen of Newton for many years. She is survived by the following additional children: Mrs. Minnie Gingrass of EdCouch, Texas Clarence Ashworth of McAllen, Texas She also leaves a brother, (Samuel) Ed Steele of this city. Her husband, the late Squire Ashworth passed away in 1926. (May 26, 1927 is correct). Funeral services will be conducted at the Moody Chapel at 2:00 Monday afternoon with the Rev. George W. Nelson of the Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will take place in the family lot at Greenwood Cemtery. Friends may see Mrs. Ashworth by calling at the Moody Chapel any time Saturday afternoon or evening.
