Obituary

Roy B. Volz, 89, Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Halstead, died Friday, January 31, 1997 at Northwest Hospital in Tucson. He was born January 16, 1908 in Falls City, Nebraska, the son of Fred and Sophia Finck Volz. A resident of Tucson for the past year, moving from Halstead, he was a retired grocery clerk. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Halstead. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during World War II.

On May 1, 1939, he married Cordia Leona Sidebottom at Hamlin, Kansas. She died October 15, 1993. Survivors: sons, Bernard L. Volz and Dean L. Volz, both of Tucson, Arizona; daughters, Cora Lou Tigert, Livermore, California; Ann L. Nisbet, Tucson, Arizona; brothers, Lenard Volz and Fred Volz, Jr., both of Wichita; Lloyd Volz, Greensburg; Earl Volz, Freeland, Michigan; sister, Anna Jane Russell, Tucson, Arizona and Loretta Yates, Wichita; six grand children.

Graveside service is Friday February 7 in the Halstead Cemetery, Halstead, with the Rev. James Mardock presiding.
