Apps, Myron Ray

Harvey County Independent

Myron "Ray" Apps, 45, Sedgwick, died November 2, 1997 at Wolf Creek Lake in rural Burlington, Kansas. He was born August 19, 1952 at Great Bend, the son of Edwin Ray and Roma Lorene Glenn Apps. A longtime resident of Sedgwick, he was a deliveryman for Federal Express.

He was a member of Riverlawn Christian Church, Wichita; captain in the Sedgwick Volunteer Department; and active in Promise Keepers.

On July 5, 1971 he married Joyce Ewing in Hutchinson. She survives. Other survivors: daughter, Melissa Apps and Sara Apps, both of Sedgwick; brothers, Scott Apps, Topeka and Rodney Apps, Hutchinson.

Funeral was February 17, 1998 at Riverside Christian Church, Wichita with the Rev. Charles Greer presiding. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.

Burial was not until February 17, 1998 due to the fact that this was a drowning and the body was not recovered for some time.
