Obituary

Mary Ann Berry, 88, Newton, died Saturday, Septeber 19, 1998 at Newton Medical Center in Newton. She as born April 18, 1910 at Ypsilanti, Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Emma Lawrence. In addition to being a homemaker, she was the police dispatcher in Drayton Plaina, Michigan for five years.

She was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and a life member of the Order of Eastern Star, both at Drayton Plains, Michigan.

On August 25, 1928, she married Clair Fuller, who preceded her in death. On February 23, 1934 she married Franklin Sutherland, who died November 7, 1956. On June 6, 1957 she married Maurice Huffman. He died July 1961. On September 2, 1967, she married Grover "Buddy" Berry in Wichita. He survives at Newton Presbyterian Manor.

Survivors in addition to her husband include a son, Robert Fuller, Winter Haven, Florida; brother, Henry D. Lawrence, Griffin, Georgia; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday Septemer 23, 1998 at Presbyterian Manor, Newton with the Rev. Charles Kaufmann presiding. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kansas.
