Edith Malleis Cecchini

Edith M. Malleis Cecchini, 91, San Jose, California, former Halstead resident, died Wednesday, January 7, 1998 at San Jose. She was born November 19, 1906 at Halstead, she was the daughter of Gottfried and Emma Cook Malleis. A 1924 graduate from Halstead High School, she was a retired nurse.

On August 23, 1947, she married Cherubino L. Cecchini at Santa Cruz, California. He died April 12, 1986.

Survivors: sons, Robert Cecchini and Charles Cecchini, both of San Leandro, California; daughters, Mary "Ronnie" Berry, Saratoga, California and Laura Ruether, San Carlos, California.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed Malleis, Otto Malleis and Harry Malleis and two sisters, Ida Malaleis and Maragaret.

Memorial service will be Friday, January 16 at Kaufman Funeral Home with the Rev. Dallas Curts presididng. Burial will be in Halstead Cemetery.
